Songs for Saturday #6: Blanco Brown, Peter Dinklage, Alan Cummings & Bill Wurtz

Hi there! Welcome to another edition of Songs For Saturday, the weekly weekend post where I post songs that I like.

My tastes in music can be eclectic.

And no more so than this week.

Today's theme is... weird shit?

Weird shit, let's go with that.

As we do each Saturday, it's time to put on our Bat Headphones!

Crank up the volume to a funky but not ear destroying volume.

And let's get down with some weird shit.

First up on the playlist is a song I recently discovered, a country rap dance record. Let's get down with The Git Up  by Blanco Brown!

This song helps me smile.

I need help smiling since I'm emotionally dead inside.

Up next is a song by Game of Thrones' star Peter Dinklage called....

SPACE PANTS!!!!

There was a sketch on Saturday Night Live where a couple of gangsters are putting the squeeze on a couple of young punks who owe them money. This meeting is taking place in a nightclub. While this action is taking place in the foreground, in the background, Jonathan Comets (Dinklage) takes the stage.

The gangsters and the punks are both distracted by the bizarre song being performed by Comets called SPACE PANTS!

After the sketch aired, SNL released the song by Peter Dinklage and Gwen Stefani.

Ladies and gentleman....

SPACE PANTS!!!!

Look, I did warn you up front. Today's play list is weird shit.

And it's not going to get less weird.

Next up is a song about the man who designed the Hoover Dam and his worries of inadequacies compared to nature's champion dam builders, beavers.

Now let's bring in Alan Cummings from Hoover Dam: The Musical with the showstopping epic, "Damned If I Do; Damned If I Don't".

Yes, I want to see ALL of Hoover Dam: The Musical!

Damn you, Alan Cummings! Damn you to hell for teasing us without a complete musical.

OK, to wrap up today's playlist of weird shit, let's go Outside with Bill Wurtz

Here's part of Bill's bio:

Bill Wurtz is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and online video creator based in New York City. He is known for his distinctive musical and narrative style which includes deadpan delivery and singing paired with colorful surrealist, psychedelic, and non-sequitur graphics.

Or to put that in fewer words, Bill Wurtz makes weird shit but it's really cool.  Of all his videos on You Tube, his History of Japan may well be my favorite.

So that's that for today's Songs For Saturday and some of the stranger songs that I like.

Until next time, remember to be good to one another and to always keep the music alive.

And also do not forget....

....

SPACE PANTS!!!!

The Not So Incredible Edible

This past weekend was a strange one here at the Fortress of Ineptitude.   Well, “strange” was in the mission statement for Saturday evening ...
