This Non Sporting Life: Super Bowl LV

This is an installment of This Non Sporting Life, a blog post about sports written by a guy who does not understand sports.

Our topic today: Super Bowl LV.

What was supposed to be an epic match up between two evenly matched football titans turned out to not be so much anything like that.

I know just enough about football to know I'm supposed to hate Tom Brady but damned if he didn't deliver. Since leaving the New England Patriots, it seemed Brady was consigned to irrelevance in his new home with the woebegone Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  But it seems Brady and the Buccaneers started to click, becoming contenders and then winning the whole damn thing with a 31-9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

i guess this settles the age old question of who was most key to the Patriots long string of Super Bowl appearances and wins, Tom Brady the quarterback or Bill Belechek, the coach. Since Bill was watching the Super Bowl from home and Tom is taking home another Super Bowl ring, I guess that answers that question.

A fan ran onto the field in the 4th quarter because something interesting needed to happen.

The half time show was all right. I like the music of The Weeknd well enough but the show seemed a bit too static, lacking the trills we usually associate with half time spectacles.

My favorite commercial of the night was for GM's electric car which shows us Will Ferrell not all pleased Norway is outselling the USA in electric cars.

Congratulations to the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
