What The Peach Meant NOT

Well, the fix was in as we knew it was all along.

Donald Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives  for his role in inciting his supporters to march on the U.S. Capitol for an insurrection that left five people dead and imperiled the lives of countless lawmakers and their staff along with Capitol Police officers and Trump's own vice president, Mike Pence.

After a trial in the US Senate, 43 Republicans flushed away all concepts of human decency, justice, truth, responsibility and consequences and voted to acquit Donald Trump of the charge against him.

The actual vote for impeaching Trump's lying, traitorous ass was 57 to 43 meaning a majority of the Senate believed that Donald Trump bears responsibility for Donald Trump inciting his supporters, causing an insurrection  that imperiled lives and killed 5 people.

In a impeachment, a minimum of 67 votes are needed to convict someone who has been impeached.

The fix was in.  Most Senate Republicans were hiding behind their favorite excuse of calling the impeachment process unconstitutional because Trump's not president anymore, duh!

Rule of thumb: anything a Republican doesn't like will be called "unconstitutional" regardless of whatever the actual   constitutionality may be.

I've done some reading on this subject and most constitutional scholars agree that the founding fathers did mean to include former officials as well as active ones to fall under the provisions of impeachment.

In short, you can't do shit while you're president and then not have to answer for it when you you're no longer president.

43 Senate Republicans came to a different conclusion and voted to acquit Donald Trump.

One of the 7 Republicans who did vote to convict Donald Trump was Richard Burr from my own state of North Carolina.

"Trump bears responsibility for these tragic events. The evidence is compelling that President Trump is guilty of inciting an insurrection against a coequal branch of government.”

Before we go nuts celebrating Sen. Burr for his bravery in doing what is right, please note that Burr has announced he will not be seeking re-election which he doesn't have to put with crazed MAGAs and their QANON bullshit anymore.

Get a load of this shit from Mitch McConnell.

"There is no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of Jan. 6."

He slammed Trump for watching television “happily as the chaos unfolded while a mob was assaulting the Capitol in his name.”

Yet McConnell was among the 43 cowards who voted to acquit because he thinks trying a former president is unconstitutional.

What the fuck?

Seriously!

What the goddamn, unholy shit total fuck?

McConnell admits Trump is guilty of that which he has been accused but still votes to do nothing about it?

Exiled to Florida, Donald Trump still holds a preternatural sway over the Republican Party in Washington DC.

The fix is still in.
