Li' Donnie Repeats Himself

On Monday, Bill Barr resigned as Attorney General.

Now, I am going to be a bit lazy with this post.

On Thursday, August 30, 2018, I wrote a post called "The Loyal Foot Soldier Who Wasn't Loyal Enough" about Jeff Sessions stepping down as Attorney General.

To save me the trouble of typing everything from scratch about Bill Barr's departure, I'm going to use what I wrote about Jeff Sessions and just alter a few things.

Nothing pisses off Li’l Donnie Trump more than the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election led by special counsel Robert Mueller idea that he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden

Except maybe Attorney General Jeff Sessions Bill Barr who has been the frequent target of Trump’s ire and insults. Sessions recused Barr refused himself from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election due to Sessions’ own potential conflicts to admit there was widespread fraud in the 2020 election. This really ticked Trump off who has reportedly considered firing Sessions Barr as Attorney General.

The thing is, Jeff Sessions Bill Barr as Attorney General has been pretty much in lock step with Trump.

Trump is big on the loyalty of others to Trump. The thing is Donald Trump expects that loyalty to be constant with no exceptions. Any disagreement, not matter how rare or small, is an affront to Li'l Donnie.

As I noted in 2018, Jeff Sessions was about as loyal a foot soldier for Trump as one could expect. But for that one thing, an issue that was less about Trump's agenda and more about his own personal grievances, Trump called Sessions' loyalty into question and could no longer abide him on his team,

We flash forward to 2020 and...

Bill Barr was about as loyal a foot soldier for Trump as one could expect. But for that one thing, an issue that was less about Trump's agenda and more about his own personal grievances, Trump called Barr's loyalty into question and could no longer abide him on his team.

Even in the aftermath of his departure, Sessions has remained loyal to Donald Trump even as Trump continued to disparage his former Attorney General on Twitter and in rally speeches.

Even while announcing his departure, Barr remains loyal to Trump.   The obsequious, fawning tone of Barr's resignation letter is a blatant appeal to Trump's ego and a bolstering of his grievances.

For all the reasons it's important and good that Donald Trump will soon no longer be President, I'm also glad to be rid of Li'l Donnie since he's just repeating himself and can't come up with new material.

Here is a graphic I worked up a few months ago when Bill Barr intervened on some damn thing or another that was to Trump's personal benefit.

Bye, Bill, you toadying subservient sycophant son of a bitch!
