The Election Without End Finally Ends (Maybe)

On Monday, December 14th, the Electoral College net whereupon Joe Biden crossed the 270-vote threshold on Monday to be confirmed as winner of the 2020 Presidential election. In total, Biden received 306 electoral votes and Donald Trump received 232.

Does this mean that the election without end has finally ended.

Yes!

Well, most likely.

Probably.

OK, by ever real measure available, the answer is yes, Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States. Full stop. No more questions. It is done and done.

But...

Well, Donald Trump admits nothing. He still refuses to concede. He still insists he won. He still insists the election was riddled with fraud.

It is a position that Li'l Donnie maintains with zero in the way of actual evidence. Each benchmark along the way, Trump still holds on to his delusions of victory even as with each benchmark, Donald Trump is a loser!

  • Election projections? Loser!
  • State certifications? Loser again!
  • Recounts? Still a loser!
  • Numerous lawsuits? Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser! Loser!
  • Appeals to the Supreme Court? A-looooooo-a-zhur!!!

How many times does Donald Trump need to keep losing before the truth finally penetrates his fat enclosed addled brain?

There is the school of thought that Donald Trump knows he lost but keeps his grievances going because he's milking the suckers in his base for a lot of money and as long as he keeps the lies of a fraudulent election going, the money will keep rolling in. When the money starts to dry up or the costs of the scam exceeds the rewards, maybe Trump will be ready to finally accept his fate.

But what if Li'l Donnie does not really understand that he lost? What if the grievances over his electoral defeat are actually real to him? What if Donald Trump truly believes his delusion?

Then we're talking about a seriously and grievously mentally ill man child who still has his tiny hands on the levers of powers for about another five weeks.

The election without end has finally ended but our collective nightmare is not quite ready to abate.
