Trumpzilla!

There's a town in South Carolina called Pickens, population a little more than 3,000. Pickens had a long-planned annual Independence Day festival scheduled for Saturday, July 1st with a parade, lots of fun stuff to do and of course capping off with fireworks. 

It is a consistent talent of politicians to find a parade and then put themselves in front of it. 

And so it came to pass that Donald Trump invaded Pickens on Saturday.   

With a crowd local officials estimated may have reached 50,000, Trumpzilla charged into Pickens.    

It was an invasion that shut down businesses and strained municipal resources. Trump’s campaign frantically brought around pallets of water and Gatorade to hydrate the crowd. With thousands standing around, dozens fell ill from the heat. 

Apparently the Trump campaign did not anticipate that South Carolina in July gets HOT!  

Pickens was a safe bet for a Trump rally with 75 percent Pickens voting for Trump in 2020.  And his Trumpzilla invasion of this South Carolina burg certainly doesn't bode well for South Carolina based contenders for the Republican nomination, Nikki Haley and Tim Scott. Both are polling in single digits and of course lack anything like the cult-like fealty of the Trump faithful.   

So what did the 50,000 get for their hours long exposure to heatstroke?  

• Trump bitched about the financial indictments against him.
• Trump bitched about the indictments over the government documents.
• Trump bitched about the investigations that may lead to indictments. 
• Trump bitched about Joe Biden.
• Trump bitched about Ron DeSantis.
• Trump bitched about Democrats who hate America. 

In other words, Trump's greatest hits.

Oh, here is a new wrinkle: Lindsey Graham got booed.

Apparently, Donald Trump is going around calling the South Carolina Republican Senator "a progressive who helps me get liberal votes".   

Which earned Lindsey boos at this event. 

This is the same guy who was virtually on the edge of tears when the first round of indictments came down (regarding the payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels) begging people to donate money to Donald Trump to help fund his defense against the heinous injustice being perpetrated against their dear leader. 

Why is Li'l Donnie using words like "progressive" and "liberal" to describe his erstwhile ally? Your guess is as good as mine although I think in Donald's tiny mind, he thinks (knows?) Lindsey Graham is gay and this is his coded way keep Graham in check? Who knows? 

By the way, the gathering may have been a bit less than 50,000 as the crowd began to thin out a bit due to the unrelenting heat.  

Anyway, after Trump's speech, Pickens' regularly scheduled Independence Day weekend festivities and fireworks proceeded and you know Trump will taken credit for all that, claiming the festivities and the fireworks were in celebration of himself.
