Songs For Saturday: “White and Nerdy Rap Day” with Weird Al Yankovic, Eminem and the Beastie Boys

Hi there!  Since it’s Saturday, it’s time now for another edition of Songs For Saturday.

The spotlight for today will be on rap music.

And since I’m white and nerdy, the rap music in today’s post will be white and nerdy.

So let’s get white and nerdy in a literal sense with Weird Al Yankovic with “White and Nerdy”.

Next up is Eminem with “Without Me”.  He spends part of the video as Robin, the Boy Wonder.
Let’s crank up the volume with the Beastie Boys with “Sabotage”.

“Sabotage” was cranked up to 11 when a young Jim Kirk drove his step-dad’s vintage car off a cliff in the 2009 Star Trek film.

Later in Star Trek Beyond, “Sabotage” is used by Scotty as a sonic disruptor to fight back against an invading alien swarm. When he hears what Scotty selected, Capt. Kirk smiles and says, “Good choice!”

Let’s wrap up (Look what I did there! It’s a pun!) “White and Nerdy Rap Day” with more  Weird Al Yankovic with what may well be my absolute favorite Weird Al parody, “Amish Paradise”.

I hope you’ve enjoyed  “White and Nerdy Rap Day” for this edition of Songs For Saturday.

Until next time, remember to be good to one another and to always keep the music alive.
