Today's post is how we almost didn't have that experience.
We had not been in Disney+ for awhile so we pulled up the streaming service to make sure it was still there.
The good news was that Disney+ was still there.
The bad news was that Disney+ was not working.
Any attempt to access any TV show or movie was blocked with a message that we were experiencing Error 39.
A quick Google search reveals that Error 39 is some damn thing that happens to Disney+ subscribers who use their X-Box to subscribe to this furshlugginer streaming service.
I tried some stuff to see if I could fix it.
Doesn't work. Still getting Error 39.
Doesn't work. Still getting Error 39.
We contact Disney+ tech support who tell us try more stuff to see if we could fix it.
Doesn't work. Still getting Error 39.
Disney+ tech support suggests different stuff to see if we could fix it.
Doesn't work. Still getting Error 39.
Disney+ tech support is stumped and tell us they will have to kick it up to a higher level of Disney+ tech support who will contact us back in 24 to 48 hours.
They do not.
Randie tried again to do some stuff to see if she could fix it.
Doesn't work. Still getting Error 39.
We're getting nervous. Hamilton is now not days away but hours.
I say a prayer to Lin Manuel Miranda.
Doesn't work. Still getting Error 39.
We contact Disney+ tech support who, of course have NO idea that we called before. They make suggestions.
Doesn't work. Still getting Error 39.
Disney+ tech support remains stumped and tell us once more they will have to kick it up to a higher level of Disney+ tech support who will contact us back in 20 minutes.
They do not.
We contact Disney+ tech support who, of course have NO idea that we called 2 days or even a half hour before. Ideas are discussed and brainstormed. The absolute zenith of Disney+ technical know how is brought to bear on this problem. There is no doubt Error 39 will eradicated once and for all.
Go on. Guess what happens.
Of course it doesn't work! Still getting Error 39.
Randie was on the phone with a Disney+ tech named Jeremy was by all accounts fun and pleasant to talk to and really seemed to know his stuff. But it was Randie who had to epiphany for a solution that... wait for it!
I said wait for it!
Worked! Error 39 was gone!
YAY!
There was much rejoicing as we watched Moana.
We love this movie and it seemed an appropriate choice to watch as a Lin Manuel Miranda primer before we watched Hamilton the next day.
Later when we pulled up Disney+ to make sure the fix was still working and...

In a moment of total desperation and depression, I checked Disney+ one more time. Unsure why as nothing had changed but...
NOW it works! Error 39 was gone!
On Friday when the fam gathered on the couch in the living room of the Fortress of Ineptitude to watch Hamilton, we approached the moment with trepidation.
We pulled up Disney+.
We clicked on the link for Hamilton.
We held our breath.
Seconds passed but it felt like an eternity.
It worked! NO error 39.
Lin Manuel Miranda be praised!
HALLELUJAH!
