Well, That Sounds Like Donnie

It's been awhile since I did a politically themed post.

It's because I hardly know where to start.

Or even know why I should start.

Mary Trump writes a book about how her uncle Donald Trump cheated to get into college by hiring someone to take his SATs for him. Instead of being a shocking revelation, it just seems like, "Yeah, that sounds like something Li'l Donnie would do."

In the middle of a pandemic where having access to health care and insurance is more important than ever, Trump is trying once more to overturn the signature accomplishment of his hated nemesis and repeal the Affordable Care Act. Instead of being dismayed by the cold, ruthless timing of this endeavor, it's just more of "Yeah, that sounds like something Li'l Donnie would do."

It appears Vladmir Putin of Russia issued bounties for killing American troops in Afghanistan and Donald Trump either ignored or refuted this information. Instead of being horrified by this negligence of his responsibilities or his disregard for the security of American troops, it's all we can do to just think, "Yeah, that sounds like something Li'l Donnie would do."

Name anything Donald Trump does that is stupid, selfish, unethical, etc etc and instead of being repulsed or dismayed or angry or etc etc, we can only slump our shoulders in weary resignation and observe, "Yeah, that sounds like something Li'l Donnie would do."

It's hard to not give into the bone crushing exhaustion that accompanies coping with every dumbass thing Donald Trump does every damned day.  We are four months away from maybe, just maybe, seeing common sense and wisdom rectify this lumbering monstrosity removed from office.  Maybe if goodness and justice can prevail in November, we can say, "Yeah, that sounds like something America would do."
