Tonight, the House of Representatives' Jan. 6 select committee will commence public hearings in prime time beginning at 8:00 PM.
Panel member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) has promised some shit is going to go down. "The select committee has found evidence about a lot more than incitement here. The idea that all of this was just a rowdy demonstration that spontaneously got a little bit out of control is absurd. You don’t almost knock over the U.S. government by accident."
Well, all righty then.
But will it matter?
Look, twice Trump was found dead to rights for doing dumb and/or criminal shit to get impeached over and both times, the Republican party kept their collective heads shoved so far up Trump's ass, nothing came of it.
No matter what Raskin thinks the committee has on Li'l Donnie and his entourage of incompetent evil, will it really matter?
A recent poll shows that the number of people who hold Donald Trump responsible for the January 6th insurrection is dropping.
Every god damn day since Donald Trump descended that escalator in 2015 to announce his campaign for President, he has said and or done some really stupid shit or some at least quasi criminal shit and every time, everyone goes "Hey, this time we've got 'im! This is the thing that will bring him down."
And every single god damn time, Donald Trump slouches towards the exits facing no fucking consequences for anything.
Jan. 6 select committee may drop some bombshells tonight.
I expect nothing from it.
By the way, one television venue that will not showing the Jan. 6 select committee public hearings tonight? Fox News.
