Songs For Saturday: Free Comic Book Day Edition

Today is not just Saturday but the first Saturday in May which means today is...

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!!!

And there was much rejoicing!

YAY!!!!

So today's Songs For Saturday is a random sampling of songs associated with comic book characters.

Starting in the 1960's, here is a song by Donavan which not only name checks Superman but also Green Lantern. Here is "Sunshine Superman".

Staying the 1960's, up next is a TV theme song recognizable the world over, the theme to the Batman TV show.

Moving on the 1970's, Paul McCartney penned a little ditty about a trio of supervillains from Marvel Comics:   the Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man and Magneto.

Also from the 1970's, here is the iconic theme music from the Wonder Woman TV series starring Lynda Carter.

Wrapping up our Free Comic Book Day theme, we turn to an epic orchestral composition, John Williams' theme for the 1978 Superman motion picture.

Please enjoy Free Comic Book Day and remember to lay down some dough with your local comic shop while indulging in the freebies.

I for one will be at Acme Comics, the best comic shop in Greensboro North Carolina the United States the WORLD!!!

Look! In the internet!

It's a bird!

It's a plane!

It's Songs For Saturday!!!

Reminding you as always to be good to one another and to always keep the music alive!
