OK, this was going to be the post where I put down words on the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

 

Then U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon dismisses the documents case against Trump and…

 

I just can’t even…

 

ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

 

Cannon dismissed the indictment on the grounds that special counsel Jack Smith was improperly appointed.

 

Smith’s legal status as special counsel was one of several go for broke Hail Mary passes made by the Trump legal team that no one expected would work.

 

In fact it didn’t work when the question of the legality of Smith’s appointment was put to other courts. 

 

Apparently  Judge Cannon has some particular knowledge or wisdom that that other judges are deprived of?

 

Or the Trump appointed judge did her part in loyalty to der Furher? 

 

Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be mean and compare Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler since the poor guy was shot at this weekend? 

 

The Justice Department is highly likely to appeal the decision, a legal fight that could end up at the Supreme Court.

 

You know, the same court that gave Li’l Donnie immunity 2 weeks ago?

 

Oh yeah, the fix is in. 

 

The document case was the one the Trump legal team was most worried about since it involved sketchy shit that Li’l Donnie did AFTER leaving the White House. 

 

So good job breaking it, Aileen. I’m sure there will be a little something extra in your pay envelope next week. (Wink-wink! Nudge-nudge!)

Anyway….

 

So…

 

I hear Donald Trump was shot this weekend or something?

 

Andrea and I were sitting down to dinner Saturday evening when I saw there was breaking news that Donald Trump had been shot.

 

We clicked on CNN to catch up on some deets.

 

Shots were fired at a Trump rally and Donald was struck in the ear. 

 

The Secret Service got him off stage and to a medical facility where he was determined to be OK except for where his ear lobe was grazed by the bullet. 

 

There was footage of Li’l Donnie babbling about some damn thing or another when there was a popping sound, Trump clutched the side of his head and dropped to the floor of the stage where he was immediately swarmed by Secret Service agents.  We hear the agents shouting commands to stay down and then once they got the all clear, they guided Trump back to his feet who raised a fist in the air as the agents closed ranks around him as they guided him from the stage. 

 

It was a rather intense scene. 

 

And it was confirmed that the shooter was shot dead and in the crowd, at least one rally attendee was also dead and others had been injured. 

 

For as much as we absolutely hate Donald Trump here in the Fortress of Ineptitude and all the damage he has done to this country, Andrea was grateful he was not killed.

 

I cannot say I was as magnanimous.  

 

Meanwhile, my mind was spinning out what was going to happen next.

 

• Republicans were going to blame Democrats for this.
• They would specifically accuse President Joe Biden of being responsible.
• There would be a demand for an investigation because Americans demand answers.
• God would get the credit for Trump not dying. 

 

It didn’t take long.

 

I think Trump’s ear was still gushing blood when Georgia’s Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accused Democrat’s hateful rhetoric for this act of violence.

 

Yes, the same MTG whose stock in trade is inflammatory hateful rhetoric against the Democratic Party.

 

Also from Georgia, Rep. Mike Collins tweeted, “Joe Biden gave the order!” 

 

What the hell is in the water down there in Georgia? 

 

A demand went up immediately for Congress to investigate this because Americans demand answers in the mere minutes after Trump was whisked away while everyone was still trying to get a handle on what the questions are.

 

And Marco Rubio gave credit to God for Trump not dying. 

 

Which I guess is a big old “Fuck you” to Corey Comperatore who died taking a bullet while shielding his family from gun fire. Hey, Marco? What did Corey do that God said he had to die while Donald Trump should live? Please share your theological insights on that.

And God also had a big "sucks to be you" to the critically injured 57-year-old David Dutch and 74-year-old James Copenhaver.  

God is fine as long as Li'l Donnie only got a grazed ear?

So what about the guy who shot the big orange morally deficient, intellectually limited, sexual assaulting, empathy deprived, incoherent convicted felon?

The shooter was 20 year old Thomas Matthew Crooks who was a registered Republican BUT also gave money to the liberal Democratic PAC  ActBlue when he was 17 years old.  

As of right now, we do not have a bead on his motives for shooting Donald Trump despite the insistence of right wing nut cases insisting the cause of the shooting was Democratic rhetoric. 

It bears remembering that John Hinkley shot Ronald Reagan because he wanted to impress actress Jodie Foster.  If Jimmy Carter had won re-election, I suppose John Hinkley would have shot Jimmy Carter to impress Jodie Foster.

I will mention that John Lennon was shot by Mark David Chapman who was a fan. Chapman had all of Lennon's records and decided he had to die. 

It is not always possible to know what direction the bullet is going to come from or the reason it was fired.  

A former classmate of Thomas Matthew Crooks said that Crooks was the target of bullying and frequently ate lunch by himself.  

I think I see a possible picture forming here but it's too early to tell and it's best to let the professional investigators do their job and sort this out.

Or why wait?  

As of Monday, right wing nut cases are still blaming Democrats and Joe Biden.  

Do I need to tell you that Donald Trump is using the assassination attempt for fund raising? Of course not because of course he will and he did. 

And yesterday Trump announced his Vice Presidential running mate as Sen, J. D. Vance of Ohio who, among other things, want to defend this country against the threat of “transgenderism".   

Among many, many other things from the Project 2025 playbook. 

This is more than I can stand.
