Songs For Saturday: Paul Simon, Sting and Madonna

Hi there! Today's Songs For Saturday features a trio of my favorite songs with a world music influence.

Let's kick off today's play list with one my favorite tunes from Paul Simon's epic Graceland album. Truth be told, there every song on this album is a masterpiece with it's influences of South African music. But "Boy In the Bubble" is a particular standout with it's staccato rhythms and it's complex wordplay.

Next up is Sting in a duet performance with Algerian raï singer Cheb Mami, creating a distinct world music feel to our next song on today's play list, "Desert Rose"

Wrapping things up is this song by Madonna, perhaps my absolute favorite song by Madonna called "Frozen", a song influenced by Madonna's interests in Eastern mysticism and Kabbalah.

And that is that for today's Songs For Saturday.

Until next time, remember to be good to one another and to always keep the music alive.
