Tomorrow is the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
I am quite nervous about it.
I have ZERO doubt about Kamala's ability to hold her own on that stage. I do not expect a Joe Biden level meltdown.
But Donald Trump is such a wild card, it's hard to be comfortable going into this thing without some trepidation.
Kamala Harris has spent the weekend studying and preparing for the debate.
Donald Trump has admittedly NOT been doing any of that.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton came prepared and handily proved she was the superior candidate. And Trump bragged that he didn't prepare.
And fuck it, Trump won the election anyway!
As I constantly remind myself, 2024 is NOT 2016 but still...
Here we are.
Adam Lichtmann who has a pretty damn good record predicting Presidential elections. (The only election he missed was 2000 and that was the one where the Supreme Court gave the election to George W. Bush.) Last week, Lichtmann made his official prediction: Kamala Harris will be the next President of the United States!
Yay!
But....
Pollster Nate Silver predicts there is a 60% chance that Donald Trump will win the electoral college.
What?
Shit!
It frustrates me no end that the big orange morally deficient, intellectually limited, sexual assaulting, empathy deprived, incoherent convicted felon even has a shot at this!
Hell, even Dick Cheney, as hard right a conservative as you will ever find, announced last week he will vote for Kamala Harris because Donald Trump cannot be trusted with being in power again.
And yet Trump could still win this thing?
FUCK!
Meanwhile, Trump has been lumbering around the country showing off how stupid he is.
At a conference with Moms For Liberty, Li'l Donnie had this insight about transgender people: “The transgender thing is incredible. Think of it. Your kid goes to school and comes home a few days later with an operation. The school decides what’s gonna happen with your child. And you know, many of these childs 15 years later say, ‘What the hell happened? Who did this to me?’ They say, ‘Who did this to me?’”
No, that is NOT a typo. He said "childs" instead of "children".
As for the rest of that....
I could parse every part of the line of bullshit but...
Damn!
Then this goddamn motherfucker doubled down on this shit, telling a crowd this weekend in Mosinee, Wisconsin, “Can you imagine you’re a parent and your son leaves the house and you say, ‘Jimmy, I love you so much, go have a good day at school’ and your son comes back with a brutal operation. Can you even imagine this? What the hell is wrong with our country?”
By the way, CNN reached out to the Trump campaign with a simple request to Donald's lying rhetoric: Back that up! And of course, they "could not find a single example of this ‘school secretly sends child for gender-affirming surgery without parental consent’ thing having ever happened anywhere in America."
Who cares about a little thing like truth? As long as the Trump faithful remain afraid and filled with rage.
And then there's this gem from Li'l Donnie.
At an event last week, Trump was asked what "specific piece of legislation" he would advance as president to help make child care more affordable.
Li'l Donnie's response? "Well, I would do that, and we're sitting down, and I was, somebody, we had Sen. Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so, uh, impactful on that issue. It's a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I'm talking about, that, because, look, child care is child care is. Couldn't, you know, there's something, you have to have it — in this country you have to have it."

Even Fox News was left befuddled as to what the hell Li'l Donnie was trying to say.
In his full remarks, he keeps trying to drag the conversation back to tariffs which Donald still thinks are magic bullets that will save us all instead of destroying poor and middle class families and eradicate jobs.
Oh, Trump's running mate JD Vance waded into the child care issue with this golden nugget of wisdom: "Maybe Grandma and Grandpa wants to help out a little bit more. Or maybe there's an aunt or uncle that wants to help out a little bit more."
Oh fuck these guys!
Back to the big orange morally deficient, intellectually limited, sexual assaulting, empathy deprived, incoherent convicted felon, he called a news conference, babbled for 45 minutes and took no questions from the press he had summoned to the event.
And what was the topic of Li'l Donnie's 45 minute babble? He don't know nothing about raping no women.
- He denied even knowing E. Jean Carroll (who he currently owes just under $100 million for defamation and sexual assault after being found guilty in TWO court cases).
- Then stumbled into bad mouthing another woman who had accused him of sexually assaulting her on an airplane decades ago.
