One Big Beautiful Monstrosity

When House Republicans eked out a 2 vote lead to pass the agregiously named "One Big Beautiful Bill" to slash taxes for billionaires and slash benefits for health care and food for Americans in need, Donald Trump went on a victory lap with an appearance in Des Moines, Iowa, at an event starting the year-long celebration of the 250th anniversary of America’s founding.

Where Li'l Donnie announced he hates half the country.

His "logic" is that Democrats refused to support his "One Big Beautiful Bill" because they hate Trump but that's OK because he hates them right back because they hate America.

Oh this goddam motherfucker!

Well, yeah, Li'l Donnie, people do hate you because you are a lying, petulant, bullying, unintelligent, sociopathic, dishonorable, treasonous, gutless, moronic, heartless, soulless, slimy, loathsome, vile, incompetent, psychotic, crooked, disgusting, reprehensible, revolting, horrible, malicious, obnoxious, hateful, small minded, despicable god damn, motherfucking piece of shit!

But Democrats did not support your goddamn One Big Beautiful Monstrosity because (let me check my notes here) it slashes taxes for billionaires while slashing benefits for health care and food for Americans in need.

This asshole...

Trump also got a dig in at Jews while in Iowa.

He was rambling on about rolling back taxes on estates, claiming people went broke trying to claim their inheritances.

“No death tax. No estate tax. No going through the banks and borrowing from, in some cases, a fine banker, and in some cases, Shylocks and bad people.”

The term “Shylock,” a reference to the name of the Jewish moneylender in William Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” is now considered to be an antisemitic slur, playing as it does on antisemitic stereotypes.

Trump denied knowing this was an antisemetic slur after the speech.  “I’ve never heard it that way. The meaning of Shylock is somebody that’s a money lender at high rates. You view it differently. I’ve never heard that.”

What's next? Is he going to claim he didn't know the N-word is a racist slur against black people?

Oh by the way, rolling back the estate tax has long been a Republican pipe dream. But despite Trump trying to present this as some kind of populist win, the estate tax didn't kick in until an inheritance hit $14 million.

And then on July 4th, Trump sat down at the White House surrounded by the whitest Republicans all just giddy with girlish glee and signed this monstrosity into law.

A monstrosity that has little support from the American people.

  • 27% of registered voters support it in a Quinnipiac University survey
  • 38% support in Fox News poll
  • 36% approval from Morning Consult
  • 23% in a survey from The Washington Post and ABC News.

All four surveys show a solid majority of the public opposes the legislation.

The central ideas in the law — cutting taxes for the wealthy while slashing health and food aid for the poor and pouring money into an increasingly unpopular deportation machine and exploding the federal debt — are astoundingly unpopular.

The passage of this monstrosity of legislation has Democratic politicians thinking they can finally bust up the working-class coalition Trump crafted.

Yeah, about that...

I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I created this in 2016, still fucking relevant!
