Sandman is back for it's 2nd and final season.
Producer and writer Allan Heinberg swears the show was only going to last for 2 seasons even before the recent allegations of sexual misconduct against creator Neil Gaiman.
Which may be true as the source material of Gaiman's original comic book run does tend to allow for a limited shelf life for any adaption. But it still sounds fishy.
Season 2 begins with a reunion of the Endless family called by Destiny. He is joined by Dream (Morpheus), Death, Despair, Delirium and Desire.
| Park at the 2023 Wonder Con |
Desire's repeated reminders of Morpheus' lost love Nada gets under his pale white skin, leading him to vow to recover Nada.
Which means a trip to Hell.
Which is where Morpheus condemned Nada.
Yeah, Nada is the love of his immortal existence but he's the reason Nada is in Hell for the last 10,000 years?
As they say on Facebook, "It's complicated."
So Morpheus is marching off to Hell where Lucifer is still pissed off at Morpheus' incursion in season 2.
The assembled demon armies of Hell are waiting to greet the Ruler of the Kingdom of Dreams.
Except...
No. Lucifer has other plans for Dream of the Endless and the KIngdom of Hell.
Morpheus would prefer fighting against Hell to being it's new landlord.

Andrea and I stumbled on a TV crime show about a pair of cops that is so basic and generic but it got our attention anyway.
One of the cops is a dog.
The show is a Canadian import called Hudson & Rex. Rex is the dog, a German Shepherd who can sniff out drugs, guns and blood and can even elicit confessions through empathy.
A gentle paw placed on a knee can go a long way.
He can also growl and run down escaping perps.
And he barks on cue whenever anyone says his name.
Hudson is... just some guy, you know?
And there's a supporting cast of... people who do... things?
Or something...
But Rex is SO adorable!
Whose a good boy? Whose a good crime solving boy?
You are! You are! Rex is a good boy!

With our son Dean back in the house (Rosie the dog brought him with her), we've caught up on some episodes of Games Changer.
The show is based on one central theme: the players start the game knowing nothing about it.
My favorite episodes feature contestant Brennan Lee Mulligan who gets all dramatic when he realizes the premise of a particularly game is just host Sam Reich fucking with him.
A real fun episode I recently caught up on was centered around a game of bingo.
The players on the main stage play a game of bingo, but must perform prompts to earn each numbered ball.
But... that's not the real game.
Unknown to the first three players, a second set of players in the Green Room are playing their own bingo game based on actions taken by the players on the main stage.
But... that's not the real game.
A THIRD set of players backstage give production assistant Kaylin Mahoney directions to make the Green Room players perform actions on their own cards.
Game Changer is a fun and funny show that always goes off in unexpected directions.

Andrea and I caught the season premier of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia which featured that show's half of the crossover with Abbott Elementary.
The title of the episode is "The Gang Fucks Up Abbott Elementary".
And they do!
The premise of the episode is Abbott Principal Ava is shown some documentary crew B-roll footage of what the Gang was up to when we were not looking during the Abbott Elementary episode.
- Trying to lure away one of the taller black kids for a high school basketball team for the Gang's own version of the Sandra Bullock film The Blind Side.
- Recruiting kids for a boy band.
- Frank stealing copper pipes out of the school's walls.
- An insane conversation about 9/11 conspiracies.
- Dee screaming at the cameraman for not catching her fight with Janine.
I've sampled It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia on occasion and I've found the show perversely interesting and sometimes LOL funny as hell. It was particularly amusing watching the normally family friendly characters in Abbott get corrupted by the It's Always Sunny vibe.
Quinta Brunson’s Janine Teagues call Dee (who tried to steal Gregory (Tyler James Williams) from Janine in Part 1) — a “total fucking cunt.” Gregory thought she was going to say “bitch.” Nope, not strong enough, Janine tersely replies with a stone cold expression on her face.
That is that for this week's Touchbase.
Until next time, remember to be good to one another and try to keep it down in there, would ya? I'm trying to watch TV over here.
