This (Non) Sporting Life: Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl

Welcome to another edition of This (Non) Sporting Life, a blog post about sports written by someone who knows little about sports.

I understand so very little about football.

But...

For Super Bowl 59, there was a real expectation that the Kansas City Chiefs would win their 3rd consecutive Super Bowl in a row.

If THAT was your expectation, then.....

It's not just that Kansas City lost to the Philadelphia Eagles but by how much,

40 to 22.

That score indicates perhaps a more interesting game than the one I endured watching for 3 quarters where Kansas City was held to zero.

The Chiefs only put numbers on the board in the latter part of the game.

If you expected a close fought gridiron conflict instead of a 3 quarter blowout....

Kendrick Lamarr performed the halftime show. I saw one reviewer call it "electrifying".

As little as I know about football, I know less about Kendrick Lamarr. Apparently he has some beef with Canadian rapper Drake and most of Lamarr's show was about...  that?

Me, I didn't get it and I found the whole thing....

I don't even recall any commercials that particularly stood out.

The whole thing seemed to me like a dull slog, joyless, soulless enterprise.

It didn't help my mood that god damn Donald motherfucking Trump showed up to attend the game.

This Super Bowl?  Well, my consensus on that is.....
