Tuesday TV Touchbase: Three Kinds of Jeopardy

These week's Touchbase is about the game shows Andrea and are watching.

A quick word about Wheel Of Fortune: we're still watching it. I'm liking Ryan Seacrest as host just fine. My only complaint is he builds too much suspense on awarding the minimum $40,000 on the bonus round; that kind of dramatic pause should only be reserved for larger prize amounts.

Ryan is Andrea's emergency back up boyfriend just in case things don't work out with Colin Jost. (More on Colin in a moment.)

Meanwhile, Andrea and I are watching not one, not two but THREE versions of Jeopardy.

Nightly syndicated Jeopardy has reached the end of this year's Tournament of Champions with ❤Adriana Harmeyer ❤as one of the three finalists.  Adriana is my emergency back up girlfriend in case Scarlett Johansen 💔 won't leave Colin Jost.

Celebrity Jeopardy is currently running weekly on ABC which is apparently not doing well in the ratings. I hope no one is blaming Ken Jennings who is doing better than fine as host of this series and the regular daily gig. I imagine problems with the Celebrity edition may stem from the loose definition of "celebrity".

Last week, Corbin Bleu was a celebrity contestant and I said "Please, Johnny Gilbert, don't introduce him as most famous for High School Musical."  Which is exactly what Johnny did and that was like 2 decades ago or something.

So far the "celebrities" have comported themselves well with no "Emily Hampshire" performances like we got last season.

And now we come to Jeopardy #3: Pop Culture Jeopardy hosted by Colin Jost over on Prime. There were some concerns that professional comedian person Colin Jost might be in contention to usurp Ken Jennings' job on regular Jeopardy.  I don't see that happening as Ken is uniquely suited for Jeopardy while Colin's brand of snarky comedy is specifically suited to the Pop Culture edition.

I'm OK with the questions on Pop Culture Jeopardy except when they veer off to 21st century music and people who are internet famous.

In an interview with a contestant, Colin revealed he is a fan of the North Carolina Tarheels. So Andrea loves him more than ever.

Point of order: Andrea doesn't think it's funny that I call Colin (and Ryan) her boyfriends. Which is a shame because I think it's funny as hell.

Well, that is that for this week's Tuesday TV Touchbase.

Next week, it's the first season finale for High Potential.

Until next time, remember to be good to one another and try to keep it down in there, would ya? I'm trying to watch TV over here.
