I can't believe I let March 26th slip by without comment. It was on March 26th, 2005 that saw Doctor Who return to BBC TV screens as a regular series after nearly 2 decades in exile.
"I'm the Doctor, run for your life!"
With those words, Christopher Eccleston reintroduced the world to Doctor Who, a show of wonder and joy with all of time and space as its backyard.
And here we are, 13 years and still counting.
It has been a phenomenal run and here's hoping it keeps on going for a very long time. I can't wait to see what new show runner Chris Chibnall and new Doctor Jodie Whitaker have in store.
But as we move to the future, lets give a nod of thanks and appreciation to Russell T Davies whose tireless efforts to revive Doctor Who resulted in the show returning to life after so long away but returning to life in a spectacular way with strong writing and excellent performances that laid the foundations for many more years of Doctor Who to come.
That single night on March 26th, 2005 has expanded over the years to come into something beyond the wildest dreams of dedicated Whovians.
