Rally 'Round Reno*

*OK, the rally in question was in Las Vegas but I was desperate for an alliterative title that involved the words "Rally 'Round".

Look, Las Vegas is in Nevada and Reno is in Nevada and it's close enough so there.

So Saturday night Andrea and I were doing some post Olympic surfing around You Tube when we came across the video for the Harris/Walz campaign rally in Las Vegas.

It was late, we were tired and the video was about 50 minutes long and we figured we lacked the energy and the attention span to get through this.

Andrea insisted we should at least sample the first few minutes maybe so we did.

The next thing we know, we've watched the whole damn thing.

Well, that went by quickly.

Gov. Tim Walz had some fun with the folks in Las Vegas.  "Thank you for reminding me that it's a dry heat...  but so's my damn oven!" which got a big laugh from the crowd.

Man, I love Tim Walz! He's America's Best Dad!  He's fun and congenial but he's not going to put up with Donald Trump's bullshit. He was so on fire, I was worried if he was going to upstage the opening act.

Vice President Kamala Harris comes out to "Freedom" by Beyonce (who has given Harris to OK to use the song) and she is fierce! She is on fire! I love her smile and her infectious laugh! She is tough on Trump but she determinedly pushes the importance of what she wants her administration to going forward.

The arena was packed with approximately 15,000 people with thousands more outside who did not make the cut.

Or...

All those people were.... NOT real?

Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that the Harris campaign was using A.I. to fake all these crowds at her rallies.

It goes without saying that there is a ridiculous amount of evidence that proves these rallies are real and the tens of thousands of people in attendance exist.

Trump and his cultists do not care.

But pictures do not lie. And neither do the numbers.

Poll numbers keep trending upward for Harris and downward for Trump.

Li'l Donnie's almost inevitable march back to the White House from July is now now less inevitable.

There is a feeling of something almost akin to joy and hope that  the curse of Trump may be defeated.

I will not relax until I hear the news networks (especially Fox News) call the 2024 election for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

But maybe, just maybe, I can believe we have a chance to make the right choice.
