Hi there.
Today is Monday, September 2nd, Labor Day here in the United States, a day off from work.
And also from classes. Randie came home for the weekend to visit and it's been good having her back at the Fortress of Ineptitude. She will be heading back to college this afternoon where I hope will be safe, particularly in the coming days.
Spent a lot of Sunday watching the Weather Channel as Hurricane Dorian rampaged across the Bahamas at a Category 5. Some pics and video coming in after the storm show the island mostly underwater and severely damaged.
Currently the storm is expected to follow a track along the coastline of Florida, Georgia and into the Carolinas. By the time Dorian reaches the Outer Banks of North Carolina, it should be down to a Category 1 but still potentially devastating. Randie's college is 2 hours inland from the Outer Banks so Andrea and I are concerned for her safety.
Randie says she lives in a girls only dorm so Dorian can't come in.
Well, that makes sense.
Of course, Dorian's path and progress are not a certain thing. I saw this sentiment expressed somewhere on the internet: predicting the track of hurricane is like diagnosing an illness on Web MD: maybe it's nothing or maybe it's gonna kill you.
Remember to be good to one another and stay safe.
