CHICKEN!!!!!

Today’s topic? Chicken.

Consider this for a moment...

I’m driving down a section of street in Greensboro, a commercial zone with stores, shops and restaurants. To my left is a Kentucky Fried Chicken; that KFC has been in that location for decades. Directly across the street, someone recently built a Zaxby’s which sells… chicken.

If you don’t want to go to KFC and get chicken, you can go across the street to Zaxby’s and get…  chicken.

Within a few yards of either place are two supermarkets. They both have delis where you can get, among other things, chicken. Of course, both have meat counters with whole chickens or chicken in parts. And both have frozen food sections with products from Tyson and Banquet that includes more… chicken.

A few yards away from the supermarket on the left is Church’s that specializes in… chicken. Less than a few feet down the street from Church’s is McDonald’s where you can buttermilk fried chicken on a biscuit or on a bun or as tenders. Across the street and only a few feet away is Wendy’s which also has… chicken.

Within a short span of space, within walking distance are all these sources of chicken. And I’m not even counting some other places which have some form of chicken on their respective menus.

This is a lot of chicken.

Where is it coming from?

Let’s pick another section of road elsewhere in the city.

In this particular section of town, to my left is a Chik-Fil-A. They have chicken, of course.

Behind the Chik-Fil-A is a Bojangles. More chicken.

Across from the Bojangles is a Steak ‘N’ Shake which has chicken tenders on their menu.

Not far from the Steak ‘N’ Shake is Longhorn (parmesan encrusted chicken) and O’Charley’s which has these really delicious chicken tenders.

On the right across the street from Chik-Fil-A are Applebees, Cracker Barrell and Golden Corral, all with some form of chicken on their menus.

A few yards behind the Applebees, Cracker Barrell and Golden Corral is a Wal-Mart with a supermarket that has chicken!

And here’s the thing. You can go to any of these places in the middle of the day for lunch? They will have chicken. Later at night for dinner, you want chicken? They will have chicken!

So not only do all these place in close proximity to each have chicken, they never run out of chicken!

WHERE IS ALL THIS CHICKEN COMING FROM?!?!?!?

The sheer ubiquity of chicken is fairly overwhelming and defies my mind’s ability to grasp the enormity of it. The concept of…

INFINITE CHICKEN!!!!!!!
