The wrong people keep dying!
Last week on June 11th, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys passed away.
A veritable genius (as acknowledged by Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory who did not care for pop music or beaches), Brian Wilson was instrumental (pun not intended by hey, that's pretty clever, eh?) in helping pop music being recognized as a true art form. Wilson's arrangements elevated the music of the Beach Boys from sugary confections to works of substance.
Wilson's creativity came with a price in his ongoing struggles with mental illness. But despite those obstacles, he produced outstanding music.
Rest in peace, Brian, and thanks for all the great music.
