Tuesday TV Touchbase: Resident Alien, Jeopardy Masters and After Midnight

Resident Alien
is back for it's 4th season. Yay!

The Harry we know and (sort of) love was trapped by the Grey aliens on the moon while a Mantid alien has replaced Harry on Earth.

And Asta and Darcy didn't notice?

Yeah, I know Harry can be weird but not the levels of weird that the Mantid Harry was displaying.

Harry escapes from the moon with help from a Earth happy Grey named Bruce and confronts his doppelganger.

Except Harry has been locked out of his true alien form and stuck in the form of a human which makes him no match for the Mantid.

Asta is suitably embarrassed that she did not realize Harry had been replaced.

Side note: Asta and Darcy have made several questionable choices about the men they have slept with. But there are scenes where they lie together on a bed, their faces mere inches apart while they talk about life and stuff. And it feels like they are mere inches away from another level of intimacy.

Or it may be what my friends in the LGBTQ+ community call "queer baiting".

Meanwhile, the fate of planet Earth hangs in the balance as both the Greys and Harry's own race has our precious blue marble in the cross hairs for destruction.

Harry doesn't want to lose Earth.  It has pizza.

Also Asta.

But mostly it's the pizza.

A couple of weeks ago, Yogesh Raut won Jeopardy Masters. He is very smart and very fast on the buzzer but Andrea and I were not rooting for him due to some past negative comments he had made about the show.

In the days after his Jeopardy Masters win, Yogest behaved himself, comporting himself with grace and dignity.

That couldn't last and he started whining that Ken Jennings kept pronouncing his name wrong and ignored his attempts to get Ken to say it correctly: it's "Yo Gaish" not "Yo Gehsh".  But Ken pronounced it the same way as Johnny Gilbert and the other contestants.  He also complained the producers cut out his comments about racism.

Geez, this guy!

I haven't mentioned this show on the Touchbase before but the last episode of After Midnight aired last week.  Hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, the late night series brought out a trio of comedians and other celebrities to participate in some weird games centered around viral videos and social media shenanigans. Much like Sam Reich's Game Changers, the games on  After Midnight varied from episode to episode.

Taylor commented that she assumed they would just cycle through the same 12 games over and over but the writers came up with hundreds of game ideas.

After Midnight ended because Taylor Tomlinson decided to leave the show and although Taylor wanted the show to continue with a new host, CBS elected to end the series and give the time back to the affiliates.

Taylor Tomlinson is a very popular touring stand up comedian right now where she is making more money than hosting After Midnight.

Taylor was the only woman hosting a late night show and she was really funny. I'm going to miss seeing her on this show.

That is that for this week's Touchbase.

Until next time, remember to be good to one another and try to keep it down in there, would ya? I'm trying to watch TV over here.
