Ode To Greensboro

For over 4 decades, I have come to call Greensboro NC home.  It’s an OK city to live in, just big enough to be a city but not so large as to be overwhelming and scary.

Being a kind of mid-range city, Greensboro sometimes eludes being noted as exceptional.  But recently, my home city made some news.

Per a recent report made by Lending Tree, “The Best and Worst Drivers by City (2023)”, Greensboro is noteworthy for having some of the worst drivers in the country.

We’re #11.

So even here we don’t make the Top 10.

But I guess #11 in the whole dang country, well, that should count for something, maybe?

Greenville NC is worse that Greensboro, coming in at #8 in the nation for worst drivers.

For some reason, those stuck up pricks in Charlotte got on the best driver list at #34.

On the plus side, Greensboro has a lot to offer!

  • Are you a romantic? Want to show the person you love just how much they mean to you?
  • Come to Greensboro which is only a half hour drive away from Virginia with is, as you know, for lovers!
  • Do you like to explore exotic locales and see wild animals from all over the world?
  • Come to Greensboro  which is about a half hour away from Asheboro, home of the North Carolina Zoo!
  • Do you like professional hockey? Do want to see major league action out on the ice?
  • Come to Greensboro  which is about an hour’s drive from Raleigh, home of the Carolina Hurricanes!
  • Do you like professional football? Or basketball?
  • Come to Greensboro  which is about an hour’s drive from Charlotte, home of the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Hornets!

Charlotte? Oh forget those pricks and their safe driving record.
