Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been a source of fascination since she exploded onto the political scene from literally left field.
Unabashedly liberal, totally embracing the label of socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC for short) defeated an incumbent Democrat in New York and then her Republican challenger in the general election to become the youngest woman ever elected to the House of Representatives.
Young, female, Latina, Congress ain't ever seen anyone like Alexandria.
AOC is a frequent topic of discussion on the right, an object lesson apparently in the evils of a leftward lurch by the Democratic Party towards even more liberal, progressive policies. On the right of the political spectrum, AOC represents a threat. She admits to being a Socialist which is a bedfellow of Communist which is right next to Godlessness.
Sen. Joe Leiberman was on Fox News complaining that AOC does not represent the future of the Democratic Party. AOC responded with a 4 word diss on Twitter: "New party. Who dis?"
AOC's clap back at Leiberman's fretting for the future wasn't AOC's only big push back on Twitter.
AOC is also a frequent topic of discussion on the left. Since elected to Congress, AOC has not been shy about her intentions to target Democrats in primary elections who are not sufficiently progressive enough. Plus there is her own determination to push through a very left leaning progressive agenda that might play well with her fellow Millenials back in NYC but maybe not so much in the heartland of America. This apparently has led to no small amount of exasperation on the part of her fellow Democrats in the House who think that AOC's star power with her 2.2 million Twitter followers would be better put to use targeting Republicans. Efforts have been made to rein in AOC and bring her further into the Democratic fold.
This led to a response on Twitter from Latino Victory Fund President Cristobal J. Alex where he noted, "Let me try and save folks some time here. You cannot rein in Latinas. They rein you in. #YearOfTheLatina #FutureIsLatina".
AOC responded on Twitter with this:
“To quote Alan Moore: “None of you understand. I'm not locked
up in here with YOU. You're locked up in here with ME.”

To Kevin's point, here is the sequence in Watchmen that leads to the quote AOC made in her tweet.
Given the nature of Rorsharch's unwavering temperament, I think Congress on both sides of the aisle will have to contend with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for a very long while.
