It All Goes Wrong

Because it's Martin Luther King Jr Day, I have the day off.

Well, that's nice.

I have the day to myself to do what I want.  

As I slowly wake up from having slept in late, I contemplate the possibilities my day off has to offer.  

Maybe I will take care of some projects I need to do around the house.

Or catch up on some reading. I'm got a graphic novel, a memoir and a half dozen comics I need to read. 

Or just chill out with random classic movies on TCM.  

I feel good about the possibilities of this day.

I arise out from the under covers.

Carpe damn diem! I am seizing the damn day!!

Then I remember....

In addition to Martin Luther King Jr Day, it is also...

Inauguration Day.

Donald Trump will be sworn in as President of the United States for the second time. 

And just like that...

It all goes wrong.

Retreating back under the covers seems like a viable alternative.
