The 2nd Age Of DOOM

Well, the 2nd Age Of DOOM is underway as Donald Trump once more takes the reins of the U.S. Government as President.

Age of doom? Really? 

Isn't that some hyberbole there? 

I mean, we're all living with high degrees of anxiety and tension as a belligerent and bellicose Donald Trump once more grasps the power of the Presidency.  

But are we really heading on a downward slope away from democracy and towards fascism.  

Fascism? I think we need to get a hold of ourselves.  It's not like Trump's inner circle is throwing out Nazi salutes...

...or something.

Oh come on! That's just a coincidence and has no resemblance to the infamous Nazi Salute from the time of Adolph Hitler and....

Holy shit!  That is a match! 

Look! This has got to be an innocent blunder and I'm sure Elon will get the record straight with grace and intelligence and....

...or not.

Meanwhile, all that stuff that Donald Trump said he wanted to do to fuck with people?

Yeah, he's doing that.

Here is a smattering of the executive orders Li'l Donnie signed with his Sharpie.   

Signed order that begins the process of withdrawing the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement.

• He did it once, of course he would do it again.  Li’l Donnie still aggressively denies the reality of climate change.  It's all a plot by the Chinese.

Signed an order to withdraw from the World Health Organization.

• Well, let’s see how well that works when the next pandemic hits. He'll just blame the Chinese.

 
Signed an order to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

• This does not change the maps of other countries. 

Ended Diverty, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in the federal government.

• DEI is what conservatives use because they can’t say the “N word” in public. (You damn well know the MAGA heads use it in private.)  

He also signed an order demanding federal employees end remote work and return to the office.

• Republicans think a lot of civil servants working from home are just lazing about on their sofas playing their X-Box instead of working. As a person who works from home, my employer keeps a closer eye on me here than they ever did when I was in the office.  

Granted pardons for nearly 1,600 Jan. 6 rioters.

• ALL of them! Even the violent ones. Trump called them "hostages".   

Plans to declare a "national energy emergency" to repeal regulations on fossil fuels, emissions and oil drilling.

• As the United States is the world’s leading producer of petroleum products, I wonder what “emergency” is he talking about.

Expanding and restoring the death penalty in the U.S., specifically in cases of undocumented immigrants.

• While most civilized democratic nations are moving away from the death penalty, naturally Trump wants to embrace it like he’s dry humping an American flag.  

Signed an order ending birthright citizenship to those born in the U.S. 

• This contradicts the 14th Amendment of the Constitution and previous Supreme Court rulings.
• Impacted by this: J D Vance’s wife. 
• Trump’s question: Who’s J D Vance? 

Trump is also expected to sign nearly a dozen executive orders on border security and immigration under the auspices of a national border emergency. These include deploying the military to the border, implementing bans on travel and asylum and planning mass deportations.

• Again in Li’l Donnie’s mind, the southern border is like those thousands of zombies pouring over the wall in World War Z. 

Ordering the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency to implement the President’s DOGE Agenda alongside Elon Musk.

• He wants to make Elon's little play toy official.  

Where did Elon go anyway?

Rescinded 78 Biden-era executive orders, actions and memoranda, including the Inflation Reduction Act's regulation on prescription drug prices.

• President Joe Biden's executive order 14087 lowered the cost of prescription drugs for Americans.

Trump’s explanation for why he is reversing reducing prescription prices? "The previous administration has embedded deeply unpopular, inflationary, illegal and radical practices within every agency and office of the federal government. The revocations within this order will be the first of many steps the United States federal government will take to repair our institutions and our economy."

 

Translation: “My billionaire buddies in big pharma want more money!”  

Declared the government will only recognize two, non-changeable sexes.

• Yeah, that'll bring down the price of eggs.  
• (Jokes aside, I am really worried about the short and long term implications of this order. People I love and care about are going to be hurt by this.)  

All that shit we were scared of if Trump came back?
