The Status Quo

Taking down Donald Trump should be easy: tell the truth.

The facts of Li’l Donnie’s actions, conduct, demeanor and policies should be sufficient evidence of his being ill suited for the job he has.  The facts about Trump’s gross incompetence and stupidity are clear and indisputable. Just tell the truth and Donald Trump and his venomous influence is destroyed.

But it isn’t. Why?

Because too many people have a vested interest in Trump remaining President. Republicans have a rubber stamp in the Oval Office to whatever they want to do.  The status quo is just fine with them.

Persons of few moral qualms and little talent or ability have found themselves thrust into positions of power and notoriety acting in defense of Trump. Without Trump, these people would sink back into the muck and mire of their own inadequacies. With Trump, they get to be on TV. The status quo is just fine with them.

Media outlets like Fox and Breitbart are making money off of the fear and hatred of a vast swath of Americans whose ignorance and rage have been stirred up by Trump. For right wing media outlets, Trump is good for business.  The status quo is just fine with them.

As for that vast swath of Americans whose ignorance and rage put Li’l Donnie in the White House, the recognition of facts about Trump’s gross incompetence and stupidity would show that this vast swath of Americans have been played for suckers. No one wants to admit to being played for a sucker.  The status quo is just fine with them.

It’s easier for some folks to dismiss the facts about Trump’s gross incompetence and stupidity as not facts at all but the ravings of a left wing deep state machine out to destroy the American way of life. This fits neatly with their narrative that the world is out to get them and out to get their champion too.  For such people, the “ facts” about Trump’s gross incompetence and stupidity is evidence to the contrary.   The status quo is just fine with them.

When I’m talking about facts, I am not referencing the revelations of Michael Wolf’s “Fire and Fury” book. I’m talking about the facts that reach my ears and eyes from Trump himself.  Trump is his own worst “witness for the prosecution” with his every word and action.

The status quo is not fine with me.
