Songs For Saturday #3: Sarah McLachlan, Foster the People and Joan Osborne

Hi there! Time again for another installment of Songs For Saturday, the weekly blog post about music liked by me, Dave-El.

Time to slap on the Bat Headphones, crack up the volume and give a listen to this week's featured songs.

Today's theme is "No, not that song...."

And to clarify what that theme means, let's kick this thing off with Sarah McLachlan.  Sarah soared to prominence with Building a Mystery which became a big hit single and a signature tune for Ms. McLachlan.

Today, we're going to listen to Sarah McLachlan but, no, not that song.  Instead we've got a song from an earlier album that enjoyed only some moderate success.  Here's a kick ass live take on Possession.

Next up is Foster The People. FTP came to prominence with Pumped Up Kicks, the surprisingly dance-able ode to school shootings.

Today we're going to listen to the music of Foster the People but no, not that song. Instead, here is a track from a later album released in 2014 called Coming Of Age.

Finally, our next featured artist is Joan Osborne.  Joan tore up the charts with the quiet introspective One Of Us, pondering the question of what if God was one of us, just another slob riding a bus.

We're gonna hear from Joan Osborne but NO, not THAT song. What I've got on tap is a live, raw and very sexy take on a bluesy classic, Right Hand Man.

And that's that for today's Songs For Saturday.

Remember to keep the music alive and always to be good to one another.
