Tuesday night was a big night for stuff 'n' junk!
The Democratic presidential debate was held last night in Des Moines, IA, the last such debate before the Iowa caucuses are held a month from now.
No, I did not watch it.
I did hear that the question of whether or not a woman can win against Donald Trump came up. Apparently, this particular concern has received some new potency with the revelation that Bernie Sanders reportedly told Elizabeth Warren in 2018 that a woman could not win in 2020 against Trump.
Bernie's taken a lot of heat for saying this (which Bernie says he did not say that and Elizabeth said he did) but depending on if that statement is made on some deep seeded he-man woman hater perspective or an objective concern about the electorate.
After all, an extremely qualified woman lost in 2016 to an extremely unqualified man who should only be allowed to run the deep fryer at Burger King*.
*Scratch that: Donald Trump should not allowed near the deep fryer at Burger King. Unless you want to burn down the Burger King.
Is America ready for a woman President? Or are there enough men (and yes, even women) still scared enough of the prospect of a woman President to still vote for a thin skinned, moronic incompetent?
Elizabeth Warren looked around her on the debate stage and noted there were only two people on that stage who have never lost an election, Amy Klobuchar and herself.
A good point but that still does not completely remove the fear of making the wrong choice to finally rid ourselves of Donald Trump in November 2020.
The other thing on Tuesday night was the conclusion of Crisis On Infinite Earths and NAH! NAH! NAH! NAH! I've got fingers in my ears and I'm NOT listening. I'm trying to stay away from my favorite comic book sites for the next day or two. Both Andrea and I have full schedules for the next couple of days so I'm not exactly sure when we're going to get to see it.
I mean, I KNOW how it's going to end with 1 big honking Earth instead of multiple Earths with Supergirl and Black Lightning on the same Earth as the Flash and Batwoman.
But how we get there and what will Lex Luthor do to mess it all up, that's a different story.
Also on last night was Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time! Now THAT I did make time to see!
It was a rare swing and a miss for James Holzhauzer in the Final Jeopardy in the 2nd game of the hour. It was enough for Ken Jennings to hold on for the win.
With this, his 3rd win in this series, Ken Jennings is the GOAT!
I was rooting for him! Congratulations, Ken, for the big victory in the GOAT tournament. It could happen to a nicer guy!
