Peter Strzok is out of a job.
And why is this important?
Strzok was a 21-year veteran of the FBI, by all accounts very good at his job, despite the handicap of having a last name with too few vowels.
"Strzok" is a sound effect from a fight scene in the 1960s Batman TV series.
Anyway, Peter Strzok may have been a very good at his job FBI super star but he did, it would seem, some very bad things: He sent text messages criticizing President Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.
OK, FBI agents are people too and have a right to express opinions. But the texts were between him and FBI lawyer Lisa Page with whom he was having an affair. And the texts were sent over their FBI phones so as to avoid being caught by Mrs. Strzok.
So that was a bit naughty. OK, cue the sensuous blue lighting and the light jazz as Peter Strzok and Lisa Page tumble into a late night Showtime soft porn movie.

So maybe it didn't look good for good ol' Peter Strzok, that maybe he might be biased. Well, Robert Mueller was concerned about that; when he learned of the texts between Strzok and Page, he immediately removed Strzok from the investigation to remove any appearance of bias.
The conduct of Peter Strzok was the subject of an internal review through an independent review process. The FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility is the official FBI forum for employee discipline. It was that office that concluded a 60-day suspension and demotion from supervisory duties was the appropriate punishment.
Mostly Strzok was dinged for using his work phone for personal message texts instead of his personal phone because he was trying to hide his affair with Lisa Page.
It reflects badly on the FBI but he didn’t screw up any cases so he gets slapped but not fired.
David Bowdich, the deputy director of the FBI, apparently felt differently and ordered Peter Strzok to be fired.
Which fucked all sorts of protocol.
The FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility is the final arbiter of discipline for FBI agents who have violated rules of conduct. There is one level of appeal to a decision by this office and it’s not the deputy director of the FBI. So for David Bowdich to intervene and counteract the ruling of the the FBI's Office of Professional Responsibility is simply not something that is done in the FBI.
Unless, of course, you’re looking to please this son of a bitch.
Agent Peter Strzok was just fired from the FBI - finally. The list of bad players in the FBI & DOJ gets longer & longer. Based on the fact that Strzok was in charge of the Witch Hunt, will it be dropped? It is a total Hoax. No Collusion, No Obstruction - I just fight back!

Just fired Agent Strzok, formerly of the FBI, was in charge of the Crooked Hillary Clinton sham investigation. It was a total fraud on the American public and should be properly redone!

Oh fuck! This guy!
Ever since the revelation of Peter Strzok’s text messages, Li’l Donnie has been banging on that drum over and over and over that Peter Strzok’s involvement in Mueller’s investigation invalidates it.
In Trump's mind, he painted Peter Strzok as some kind of master villain operating out of a volcano based lair plotting the overthrow of Donald Trump and any hope of making America Great Again! The fiend! The vile and terrible fiend.

And he thinks that the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email use should be re-done because of Peter Strzok’s involvement in it.
So apparently in Trump World, Hillary Clinton is standing next to Peter Strzok as they cackle maniacally from their volcano based lair.

Can’t this crazy, illiterate, fat ass, treasonous fat bastard come up with some new material?
Yeah, it’s clear that Peter Strzok’s firing from the FBI was a political hit job in deference to Trump. Unfortunately it’s one of those things that you just know is true but you can’t quite stick a pin in it.
Which is the kind of thing that happens when democracy is dying on the vine and a would be autocrat is in charge.
Peter Strzok is out of a job because he said bad things about Donald Trump. And that is why this is important.
And Trump is sulking because he wants a volcano based lair, just like Peter Strzok.
