A Very Important Announcement

Dear reader,

Thank you for coming by today, whether this blog is a regular destination for your reading enjoyment or you happened by today while surfing the Web. I extend a warm welcome to you all. 

Writing today’s post is a bit difficult for me. I am forced to take a hard look at who I am and what kind of forum have I been using this blog for. Since I launched this blog three years ago, I have engaged in a wide range of subjects, mostly revolving around the ephemera of pop culture and deranged forays into utter nonsense. There has been an effort on my part in this presidential election year here in America to review and analyze the political process but even that is a topic that I have frequently addressed in a tone that is more mocking than constructive.

Among the targets of my political posts has been Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) who is seeking the Republican nomination for President. While Donald Trump has been winning most of the primaries and getting most of the press, Ted Cruz has been conducting a disciplined and unyielding campaign that has led the Texas senator to earn a total of delegates 2^nd only to Trump. 

I have gone on record as deriding the politics and the character of Sen. Cruz in a manner both hostile and uncouth. As I have reviewed these posts, I have to admit that I am quite ashamed at how I have approached Cruz and his campaign. To that end, I am feel compelled to make the following statements.  

1. I will no longer issue any further posts that speak of Sen. Cruz in a derogatory manner. Prior posts will remain in the blog archives but as a testament to my shameful conduct. But going forward, I will not permit myself to engage is such reprehensible conduct towards this man.
2. I pledge to make amends for my prior conduct by becoming a proponent for Cruz. Yes, I am formally announcing my endorsement of Sen. Ted Cruz as our next President of the United States of America.

I apologize to any readers who take exception to this admittedly dramatic change of course for this blog and its writer. But after due consideration, I feel this is the course I must follow. So go to your calendar and mark today’s date, April 1^st, 2016, for today is the day that I open my eyes and see that the future of this great nation is Sen. Ted Cruz.
